I’m Joel.

There’s a thousand directions one could take when writing an introduction on a personal site like this.

Are you here professionally? Welcome! You may be interested in my work: I’m a software and systems engineer working on remote sensing systems and data processing pipelines. Most of my time is in a Python IDE, but I touch containerization and orchestration systems, networking (it’s always DNS!) and monitoring solutions on the regular. I like tackling wide problems.

Are you here just for fun? Well, I am too! When I’m not coding or breaking my homelab, I’m out hiking, doing some landscape photography, flying an old Cessna, or maybe running away to the mountains for a few days to get the skis cold again.
